  2:30 p.m. Tuesdays, May 30 and June 6, 13, 20 and 27. Each week, we will offer a clever craft to create! This program is designed for grades K-5, but all ages are welcome. Younger children should be accompanied by an adult to assist them with the craft.

MAGIC SHOW! 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 31. Our friends at Big Idea Balloons return with double the fun.  They will perform their Better Builder Magic Show and then conduct a Build-a-Balloon Workshop. This program is designed for grades K-5, but all ages are welcome. Younger children should be accompanied by an adult. 

 

 

Monday Mornings with a Cop:
10 a.m. every Monday from June 5 through July 24. Each week, we will meet a community hero from the Ormond Beach Police Department. The police officer will meet and greet the children and read them a story.
A craft related to the story will follow. This program is designed for grades K-5, but all ages are welcome. Younger children should be accompanied by an adult.

 

 

Amanda’s Dance Studio: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 7. Dancers will perform their summer show for us. This performance is aimed at students in grades K-5, but all ages are welcome! Younger kids should be accompanied by an adult.

Weekly Book Giveaway for Teens: June 8 through July 13. Each time teens visit the library, they can enter to win a free book. Three different titles will be offered each week. Pick up entry forms at the adult reference desk or the children’s desk. Grades 6-12.

Safety Day: 2:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 14. We will assemble child safety kits for kids from birth to age 18. Our community heroes will meet and greet the participants. Younger children should be accompanied by an adult, and a parent or guardian must sign a permission form for kids to have a safety kit. All ages.

The Great Eggsecution: 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 21. Create a lander that will protect a raw egg from breaking when dropped from increasingly greater heights. Will it survive or splat? We will find out when we meet again on Wednesday, June 28, to compete with our designs. Grades 6-12.  

Legos for Kids: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 21. Kids can enjoy Lego fun and games! This program is designed for grades
K-5, but all ages are welcome. Younger children should be accompanied
by an adult.

Coloring for Adults and Children: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 5. Adults and children can color with
us. The library will provide coloring sheets, crayons and colored pencils. All ages. 

  2:30 p.m. Tuesdays, July 11, 18, 25. Create a craft that focuses on our community. This caring craft is designed for all ages, but younger kids should be accompanied by an adult to assist them.
All ages.

Florida Folk Musician: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 12. “Mrs. Kate” Carpenter, our favorite Florida folksinger for kids, brings her “Whale of a Wonderful World” show to our library. Everyone is invited to join her for some singing and smiling fun. Younger children should be accompanied by an adult. All ages.

Mad Science: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 19.Our mad scientists have been stranded on a deserted island and need you to help them build a new world! Learn about shapes, structures and engineering as you help create this new desert paradise. This program is designed for grades K-5, but all ages are welcome. Younger children should be accompanied by an adult. Grades K-5.

Cartooning Workshop: 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 25. Kids will learn quick sketching skills and develop a cartoon character for a single panel or cartoon strip. Snacks will be offered to participants. Grades 6-12.

Central Florida Zoo on the Move: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 26.

Zookeepers will present their “Home Sweet Home” program, bringing animals that build their homes in different ways. The program is geared toward students in grades K-5, but all ages are welcome. Younger children should be accompanied by an adult. Grades K-5.
